CheckMyFluency is operated by Leptin LLC, a California company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using CheckMyFluency you agree to this policy.

We collect the following information when you use CheckMyFluency:

• Assessment responses: your answers to reading, listening, writing and speaking questions during the assessment
• Audio recordings: short voice recordings made during the speaking section, used solely to transcribe and score your responses
• Payment information: if you purchase detailed results, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details
• Usage data: anonymous analytics data collected via Google Analytics, including pages visited and time spent on site. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

We use your information solely to:

• Provide your assessment results
• Process your payment if you choose to unlock detailed results
• Improve the assessment experience through anonymised analytics

We do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstances.

Audio recordings made during the speaking section are processed by OpenAI Whisper for transcription purposes only. Recordings are not stored after transcription and scoring is complete. We do not retain, share or analyse your audio beyond what is necessary to score your speaking assessment.

CheckMyFluency uses the following analytics and advertising tools to understand how users interact with the site and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing:

• Google Analytics 4: collects anonymised usage data including pages visited and time spent on site
• Google Ads: conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of Google advertising campaigns
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel: tracks visits and conversions to measure the effectiveness of Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns
• LinkedIn Insight Tag: tracks visits and conversions to measure the effectiveness of LinkedIn advertising campaigns

These tools use cookies and similar technologies. No personally identifiable information is shared with these platforms beyond what is standard for conversion tracking. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your browser settings or by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info.

Assessment responses are stored in your browser session only and are not retained on our servers after your session ends. Payment records are retained by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy.

You have the right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To make a request contact us at hello@checkmyfluency.com. As we do not create user accounts, most data is stored locally in your browser and can be cleared by clearing your browser data.

CheckMyFluency is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
